Flightless Bird, American Mouth Lyrics

I was a quick wet boy
Diving too deep for coins
All of your straight blind eyes
Wide on my plastic toys
And when the cops closed the fair
I cut my long baby hair
Stole me a dog-eared map
And called for you everywhere

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, jealous, weeping
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill looming

Now I'm a fat house cat
Cursing my sore blunt tongue
Watching the warm poison rats
Curl through the wide/white fence cracks
Kissing on magazine photos
Those fishing lures thrown in the cold and clean
Blood of Christ mountain stream

Have I found you?
Flightless bird, brown hair bleeding
Or lost you?
American mouth
Big bill, stuck going down

p/s : Twilight movie has made me fall in love with this beautiful song and while reading the sequel books this song has been in my head constantly. The warm feeling song remind me of my husband's love to me.

How to stop a cough in 5 minutes

How to stop cough in 5 minutes!!! This is a must try...
We have all been kept awake by our own or someone else's cough. Try this and pass it on. The tip and not the cough. ANYTHING is better than antibiotics. Even babies could benefit from this and the parents wouldn't worry about the safety of their child. And of course, it is harmless and free from any type of side-effects.

WOW! I was raised, and raised my kids with Vicks. How come I never knew this? I can't wait for my next cough. Amazing!
READ IT ALL. It works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research council (who discovered it) aren't sure why.
Treatment:
To stop night time coughing in a child (or an adult, as we found out personally), put Vicks Vapor Rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and then cover with socks. Even persistent, heavy, deep coughing will stop in about five minutes and stay stopped for many, many hours of relief. This works 100 percent of the time, and is more effective in children than even very strong prescription cough medicines. In addition it is extremely soothing and comforting and
they will sleep soundly. I heard the head of the Canada Research Council describe these findings on the part of their scientists when they were investigating the effectiveness and usage of prescription cough medicines in children, as compared to alternative therapies like acupressure. I just
happened to tune in to a.m. Radio and picked up this guy talking about why cough medicines in kids often do more harm than good due to the chemical makeup of these strong drugs, so I listened. It was a surprising finding and found to be more effective than prescribed medicines for children at
bedtime, and in addition to have a soothing and calming effect on sick children who then went on to sleep soundly.. My wife tried it on herself when she had a very deep constant and persistent cough a few weeks ago, and it worked 100 percent! She said it felt like a warm blanket had enveloped her. The coughing stopped in a few minutes, and believe me this was a deep (incredibly annoying!) every few seconds, uncontrollable cough and she slept cough-free for hours every night she used it. If you have children or grandchildren, pass it on. If you end up sick, try it yourself and you will be absolutely amazed.

Blood Clots/Stroke - They Now Have a Fourth Indicator, the Tongue.

STROKE: Remember

The 1st Three Letters.... S.T.R.

A friend sent this and encouraged me to post it and spread the word.
If everyone can remember something this simple, we could save some folks.

Please read:
STROKE IDENTIFICATION:
During a BBQ, a friend stumbled and took a little fall - she assured everyone that she was fine (they offered to call paramedics) .....she said she had just tripped over a brick because of her new shoes.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared a bit shaken up, Ingrid went about enjoying herself the rest of the evening

Ingrid's husband called later telling everyone that his wife had been taken to the hospital - (at 6:00 pm Ingrid passed away.) She had suffered a stroke
at the BBQ. Had they known how to identify the signs of a stroke, perhaps Ingrid would be with us today. Some don't die.... they end up in a helpless, hopeless condition instead.

It only takes a minute to read this...
A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours he can totally reverse the effects of a stroke... totally. He said the trick was getting a stroke recognized, diagnosed, and then getting the patient medically cared for within 3 hours, which is tough.R

RECOGNIZING A STROKE

Thank God for the sense to remember the '3' steps, STR . Read and Learn!
Sometimes symptoms of a stroke are difficult to identify. Unfortunately, the lack of awareness spells disaster. The stroke victim may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the symptoms of a stroke.

Now doctors say a bystander can recognize a stroke by asking three simple questions:

S * Ask the individual to SMILE.

T * Ask the person to TALK and SPEAK A SIMPLE SENTENCE (Coherently)(i.e. It is sunny out today)
R * Ask him or her to RAISE BOTH ARMS.

If he or she has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 999/911 immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

New Sign of a Stroke -------- Stick out Your Tongue

NOTE: Another 'sign' of a stroke is this: Ask the person to 'stick' out his tongue.. If the tongue is 'crooked', if it goes to one side or the other, that is also an indication of a stroke.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this e-mail sends it to 10 people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I thought....

I was conscious about my health but I was wrong. I have been abusing my body for years without realizing it. After my gynae check up and my sudden operation I realize I bad I was with my body. I only did my pap smear after 2 years delivered Aaron. Even then, I should have done it way before Aaron was born but I neglect it. Having few history of breast cancer and ovary cancer in my family I only do the mammogram this year. My friend Linda that stayed in the States informed me that over there they only encourage woman above 40 to do the mammogram. May be due the expensive fee. But I was on the way to the hospital and I heard our local ads urging young Malaysian woman to take first step on breast check up or mammogram and also pap smear due the breast cancer and cervical cancer statistic is getting higher. Why not take precaution earlier? We can spend our money on food, drink and party, there should some money spend on heath.

While I was going to my physiotherapy session, my gynae doctor asking me to see her and it seems that my pap smear wasn't great after all. There some fungus was detected and she give me some medication to kill the germ inside my vagina. Just imagine, I thought I was clean. We can never be too sure nowadays.

On my physiotherapy session, I learn day to day movement how we can care about our back. Honestly, I heard this when we were in junior high school and even our mom always told us to sit up straight and don't sloughing. And yet, we choose not to care and now I had no choice to care. I had to learn this in my 30's again and what a embracement as it show it was me who abuse my own body. Oh well mistake has been done and I live to tell it. I hope my writing could give some awareness to all my ladies friends how important for us to take care outside and inner body. I have paid the price!

My visit ...

To relatives house during Eid Mubarak (Hari Raya) was so tiring and enjoyable. Lavish with different kind of food for each houses. Only this time we had biggest relatives meeting and asking about each one of them. Firstly, we visit the eldest aunt house and so on. Both my grandparent already past away so we only had our Mak Ngah to visit on my mom's side. But Nek Bik (my grandma youngest sister) on my dad's side and glad she can still manage to see her great grandson.

To gynae clinic for yearly check up and mammogram bringing good result. Never knew doing mammogram make you feeling very worried. While the imaging lady doing her work, I was so afraid to know the result. Thanks god I was clean from any lump. The reason of the gynae check was because I miss my period for 3 months and yet I am not pregnant. But at this moment doctor suspected hormone in balance and I am on hormone medication. I must make sure in great shape as we are planning for second child next year.

To orthopedic clinic has made me admitted to hospital immediately for further diagnose. I was sent to x-ray and MRI to see what has cause my left leg in pain. The finding is one the MRI result. My L5 spine disk was torn and leak. Due to this the disk is pushing my nerve and cause me pain on my left leg. After knowing the cause doctor advise me to do minor operation so they can insert facet block at my L5 spine. But he fail to tell me that it was very painful procedure as he had to do 6 times local anesthetic (as if you had 6 times epidural) which is painful for me. I had very low tolerant on pain (that's why I had epidural for when I delivered Aaron). Anyway if I don't do it I will forever feel the pain on my left leg and I won't be able to wear any high heels. So now I just discharge from the hospital and I want to rest and do some physiotherapy exercise so my back can heal fast. I had to give Aaron to my parent as I can't carry him due to my back is still in pain.

For relatives and friends that visit me in hospital and my house, I would like to thank you and my house door still open to anyone to wish to visit me.

Jokes of the day

The Silent Treatment

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, 'Please wake me at 5:00 AM ' He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, 'It is 5:00 AM. Wake up.'

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. *

WIFE VS. HUSBAND

A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a  word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, 'Relatives of yours?' 'Yep,' the wife replied , 'in-laws *

WOMEN'S REVENGE

'Cash, check or charge?' I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse.'So, do you always carry your TV remote?' I asked. 'No,' she replied, ' but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally.'

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN **(A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE)

I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider.

W O R D S

A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, 'The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men... The husband then turned to his wife and asked, 'What?'

CREATION

A man said to his wife one day, 'I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time.' The wife responded, 'Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT

A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, 'You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee.' The husband said, ' You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee.' Wife replies, 'No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee.' Husband replies, 'I can't believe that, show me.' So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says..........'HEBREWS'

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.*

Facts about tampons and pad

If you are a woman and use pads, but especially if you use tampons, read this and pass it on to your friends. For the men receiving this email, please forward it to your friends, significant others, sisters, mothers, daughters, etc.) Thanks!

Check the labels of the sanitary pads or tampons that you are going to buy the next time and see whether you spot any of the familiar signs stated in this email.
No wonder so many women in the world suffer from cervical cancer and womb tumors. Have you heard that tampon makers include asbestos in tampons? Why would they do this? Because asbestos makes you bleed more, if you bleed more, you're going to need to use more. Why isn't this against the law since asbestos is so dangerous? Because the powers that be, in all their wisdom (not), did not consider tampons as being ingested, and, therefore, didn't consider them illegal or dangerous.

This month's Essence magazine has small article about this and they  mention two manufacturers of a cotton tampon alternative. The companies are: Organic Essentials @1-800) 765-6491 and Terra Femme @(800)755-0212.

A woman getting her Ph.D. at University of Colorado at Boulder sent the  following: 'I am writing this because women are not  being informed about  the dangers of something most of us use: tampons. I am  taking a class this  month and I have been learning a lot about biology and  women, including  much about feminine hygiene. Recently we have learned that  tampons are  actually dangerous (for other reasons than TSS). I'll  tell you this -  after learning about this in our class, most of the females wound up  feeling angry and upset with the tampon industry, and I for  one, am going  to do something about it To start, I want to inform everyone I can, and email is the fastest way that I know how

HERE IS THE SCOOP:
Tampons contain two things that are potentially harmful:   Rayon (for absorbency), and dioxin (a chemical used in bleaching the  products). The tampon industry is convinced that we, as women, need bleached white products in order to view the product as pure and clean. The problem here is that the dioxin, which is produced in this bleaching  process, can lead to very harmful problems for a woman. Dioxin is potentially carcinogenic cancer-associated) and is toxic to the immune and reproductive systems. It has also been linked to endometriosis and lower sperm counts for men. For  both sexes, it breaks down the immune system.
Last September, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reported that there really is no set 'acceptable' level of exposure to dioxin given that it is cumulative and slow to disintegrate. The real danger comes from repeated contact Karen Couppert 'Pulling the Plug on the Tampon Industry'). I'd say using about 4-5 tampons a day, five days a month, for 38 menstruating years is 'repeated contact', wouldn't you? Rayon contributes to the danger of tampons and dioxin because it  is a highly absorbent substance. Therefore, when fibers from the tampons are left behind in the vagina (as usually occurs), it creates a breeding ground for the dioxin. It also stays in a lot longer than it would  with just cotton tampons. This is also the reason why TSS (toxic shock syndrome) occurs.

WHAT ARE THE ALTERNATIVES?
Using feminine hygiene products that aren't bleached  and that are all cotton. Other feminine hygiene products  (pads/napkins) contain dioxin as well, but they are not  nearly as  dangerous since they are not in direct contact with the  vagina. The pads/napkins need to stop being bleached, but, obviously,  tampons are the  most dangerous. So, what can you do if you can't give up using tampons?  Use tampons that  are made from 100% cotton, and that are UNBLEACHED. Unfortunately, there  are very few companies that make these safe tampons. They  are usually only  found in health food stores.  Countries all over the world ( Sweden , Germany , British Columbia , etc.)  have demanded a switch to this safer tampon, while the U.S.  has decided to keep us in the dark about it. In 1989, activists in England mounted a campaign against chlorine bleaching. Six weeks and 50,000 letters later, the makers of sanitary products switched to oxygen bleaching (one of the  green methods available) (MS magazine, May/June 1995).

WHAT TO DO NOW:
Tell people. Everyone. Inform them. We are being  manipulated by this industry and the government, let's do something about it! Please write to the companies: Tampax(Tambrands), Playtex, O.B., Kotex.
Call the 800 numbers listed on the boxes. Let them know that we demand a safe product ALL COTTON UNBLEACHED TAMPONS.
AND FOR THOSE OF US WHO USE SANITARY NAPKINS/PADS:
IF u ever wondered what were the ingredients that made popular brands so "free and light and carefree", well here's the bit:
The material that makes the pad so paper THIN, is cellulose gel. Yeap, it's not even cotton!!!!!! DO NOT wear the same pad for more than 3 hours of a maximum!!! After this duration, the genital area is prone to bacterial action and may result in cervical cancer or other complications!!!!!!!!!!
REMEMBER! NEVER NEVER NEVER WEAR THE SAME PAD FOR MORE THAN 3 HOURS!!!!
SO yes, please pass on this message to as many women as  possible and save lives!!!!!!!!!!

Hongkong & Disneyland

Finally my holiday started. We had to catch 7am flight and reach the airport at 4am. Huh so early and Aaron still sleeping in the stroller. After checking the bags we decided to have Big Breakfast in Mc Donald. My hubby managed to do his Subuh(Dawn) prayer before boarding the flight. Aaron sleep the whole journey (thanks god!). I told my mom to keep Aaron wake as late as she can the night before. 4 hours journey with AirAsia is horrible. Not sure if other liner good but for sure we not booking with them if the journey more than 2 hours. IMG_0051Express boarding doesn't really make any different in LCCT. I got backpain as the sit can't recline so much. Even our bus sit can recline much more. Oh well you pay cheap ticket so you get cheap service. I can't comment so much.

When we arrived, a bit clueless on which IMG_0050transportation to use to get to the Disney Hotel. But we took the cab as it is easier even thou it cost us HKD 150. Our room is magnificent and comfy. I love the view and very happy with the service. It was raining when we arrive so we rest a bit in the room before we start our journey to Hongkong Island via MTR. Aaron was fascinated with kid bathrobe and slipper.

Our main focus going to Hongkong is to take Aaron to Disneyland so he can meet Mickey Mouse personally. It was fun to see him get IMG_0117 very excited when he saw Mickey Mouse. But he was puzzled when we  enter the souvenir shop as he sees too many Mickey. Some people commented that Aaron too small to enjoy Disneyland but honestly he enjoyed the day. He really have fun watching the Parade and see most of Disney characters alive. On the street he was dancing away enjoying the day and I don't feel trip is a waste. He don't even want to leave the place. So in future plan, we want to ensure we bring him to Disney World in Orlando before he start primary school. It will not be problem to us as my hubby been there and know way around.

Some people know that I'm good in shopping. We do buy a lot of stuff in Ladies Market, Temple Street, Western Market and the IMG_0074alley (LOL). We manage to go to the Victoria Peak but unfortunately it was raining and very cloudy. Barely can see the sunset. We made time to find Chinese Muslim Restaurant and enjoy the food there. We do travel with MTR and thumb up with their MTR system. If you ever get lost in Hongkong than you must be a fool. Being in Hongkong is something like going to Singapore. Their transportation is  very good especially their MTR station. The instruction very straight forward and it is impossible for you to get lost. But you must have a lot of stamina as you need to do a lot of walking. They have Central like our KL Sentral but better system. Everything in one roof. You don't need to go outside to catch another line train like ours (we had to go out of KL Sentral building to catch Monorail). But lack of public restroom. Even in travel guide did mention Hongkong lack of public restroom. If you have to go, please find Mc Donald.

Overall the trip was great but tiring. Aaron barely want to walk so we taking turn to carry him. The trip back is worth while using the express boarding as we are given priority to be in the flight early than the rest so we can get better seat.

I will be downloading most of the pictures at Facebook. The link will be mention below.

Jokes : The Genie of the Lamp

A woman was walking along the beach when she stumbled upon a bottle. She picked it up and rubbed it, a lowland Genie appeared. The amazed  woman asked if she got three wishes.

The Genie said, ? Nope, sorry three wish genies are a story-tale myth. I am a one-wish genie. So . . . what'll it be??

The woman didn't hesitate. She said, I want peace in the Middle East. See this map? I want these countries to stop fighting with each  other and I want all the people of different faiths to love one another, love the Americans and vica-versa. It will bring about world peace and harmony.?

The Genie looked at the map and exclaimed, ?Lady, be reasonable. These countries have been at war for thousands of years. I'm out of shape after being in the bottle for 500 years. I'm good but not  THAT good! I don't think it can be done, "Make another wish and  please be reasonable."

The woman thought for a minute and said, Well, I've never  been able to find the right man. You know, one that's considerate and fun, likes to cook and helps with the house cleaning, is great in  bed and gets along with my family, doesn't watch sports all the time,
and is faithful. That's what wish for . . . a good man.?

The Genie let out a long sigh, shook his head and said, "Let me see that freaking map again."

PROBLEM DRIVING AT NIGHT : BE SAFE

CCTV camera records Mat Rempit attack

VIOLENT crime in progress: These pictures tell how 14 Mat Rempit ganged up to beat and rob five women during an early morning fuel stop in Bangsar.
A CCTV surveillance camera captured the attack on the three sisters and two of their cousins at the Shell petrol station in Jalan Bangsar.

Traumatised, they have vowed never to go to a petrol station again after dark.

Twelve young thugs, on six motorcycles, were said to be 'hovering around the station' while a pair on another motorcycle filled up as the women drove in about 3.30am on Saturday.

They were on their way home after a function in Puchong. Sisters Uma Munusamy, 33, Chittra, 32, and Latha, 31, were to drop off cousins Ragas Letchumanan, 28, and Komala, 20, at their Bangsar home when they decided to stop for fuel.

They drove up to a pump at the station. Latha went to the window counter to pay, while Chittra, who was driving, got out to fill up. That was when the Mat Rempit, who had been noisy and boisterous, moved in, as if acting on cue.

One thug attacked Latha, splashing a can of 'Red Bull' energy drink on her face. The sweet-sour liquid stung her eyes, temporarily blinding her as the thug pushed her down, hit her with the drink can and snatched her gold chain and handphone.

Another three dashed to the car to attack the others.

'We were in fear. We thought that we had been splashed with acid, as the liquid they threw on our faces really stung,' said Uma, recalling the attack.

The women screamed for help, but none arrived. The petrol station workers were safe and sound, inside the premises, where the doors had been locked at midnight.
'The workers just stood there, watching,' said Latha.
At the car, the Mat Rempit ordered the girls to hand over their valuables
and handphones. One of them just couldn't wait. He yanked Uma's gold
bracelet off one wrist and at the same time snatched the handphone she
held in the other hand.
Despite fearing for their lives, the girls put up a fight, trying to prevent the robbers from getting away with their belongings. The scuffles only led to injuries, but fortunately, minor ones.
Ragas was hit on the head several times, while Chittra sustained
injuries on her neck and right arm, besides suffering an injury to the
lower lip. She was then beaten up with a soda can.
'The whole incident really traumatised us but what was worse was the
fact the workers did not even bother to help,' said Uma.
This is one nightmare they do not ever want to experience again. And,
for them at least, no more filling up fuel at night, or stopping anywhere
either during the wee hours. Their total loss: RM3,000 in cash and
valuables.
The five made a report at the Brickfields police station soon after
recovering from the shock of the attack. Police said they are investigating, and have yet to identify the culprits.
The women also expressed their frustration over the Mat Rempit
menace.
'So much has been said, so much anger and frustration has been
expressed over these motorcycle thugs... but yet they seem to be having
a free run,' said Chittra.
Their only hope is that justice will be done, that the CCTV images captured by the surveillance camera will lead to arrests and conviction.

Think twice before venturing out at night. Even with CCTV and people watching, nobody will help you all. Take care of your own self.

What a week...

Everyone knows that I have been busy with Facebook for the past few month LOL. I have almost everything there including my photo. I also got to find a long lost best friend of mine who happen to lived in the States after finish her study there in Facebook. In June I have not write anything yet in my blog.

Last week was the hectic week for me. Nursed a sick husband over the weekend and then he was involved with an accident on the way to office on Tuesday. His Yamaha Virago were slightly smash. Lucky we have second bike for him to go to work. He got cut and bruises only. Then we had to rush to Singapore for a day trip due to his work. I was there only for leisure but it is so tiring. Raining day also spoilt the day. We were stuck at Mc Donald Cafe almost 2 hours due to the heavy rain. Then we took a cab to go around Singapore for my mom to do her shopping. We went to Arab Street and Woodland (Malay love to shop there). I didn't buy anything as I could not find anything interesting to buy there. We shoot off back home in the evening. Upon return home, we had to settle the accident case with the insurance on Friday. There goes our weekday.

On Saturday while I had my appointment with Slimming Centre, the car agent called and told us our loan has been approved and we can collect our new car. Finally some good news. We pick up the car on Sunday. Still few thing to do as the car need to be fix with video monitor. Aaron can't seem to sit quietly as he so use to watch TV while in the car. We decide to fix the head monitor for him. May be in this week I get the shop to fix for us.

The Hongkong trip is around the corner. We are preparing our final arrangement. Hope the trip very enjoyable......

The worst week....

While we were enjoying the Labour Day holiday, IMAGE_395my son was injured while playing in the house with my hubby. I was helping my sister with her laptop and then I saw my son fall down and knock himself to the wall corner. At that moment I knew it was a bad fall and rush to him and saw a long cut at his forehead. Blood is pouring like mad and I was static. Run to the kitchen and get the gauge bandage from my First Aid Kit (Thanks god we have that in the house) and trying to stop the bleeding. My sister start the car and my hubby carried him IMAGE_396and straight we go to my family clinic. I was panicking, sad, angry and a tons of feeling at that moment. When the doctor stitched the cut, I tried to comfort Aaron down. It was sad to see him crying in pain when I don't even have any pain when I deliver him into the world. I was feeling guilty for he has to feel thisIMAGE_397 pain. It is not fair. I only start crying when I was on the phone with my mom and never stop after that. That night I have difficulty to sleep because the event keep rewind in my mind over and over again. My parent arrive at the same night per my request as I am worried if I'll be panicking again if my son crying due to the pain. My mom said it is ironic that my son have stitches exactly like me. But I was at least 3 years old when I got my stitches on my forehead also. I can't help it feeling that I am a bad mom for letting this accident happen.

Interesting facts to share

"CORRECT WAY OF COOKING NOODLES"

The correct way to cook instant noodles without harming our bodies and health. Normally, how we cook the instant noodles is to put the noodles into a pot with water, throw in the powder and let it cook for around 3 minutes and then it's ready to eat. This is the WRONG method of cooking the instant noodles. By doing this, when we actually boil the ingredients in the powder, normally with MSG, it will change the molecular structures of the MSG causing it to be toxic. The other thing that you may or may not realize is that, the noodles are coated with wax and it will take around 4 to 5 days for the body to excrete the wax after you have taken the noodles.

CORRECT METHOD:

1.      Boil the noodles in a pot with water.

2.      Once the noodles are cooked, take out the noodles, and throw away the water which contains wax.

3.      Boil another pot of water till boiling and put the noodles into the hot boiling water and then shut the fire.

4.      Only at this stage when the fire is off, and while the water is very hot, put the ingredient with the powder into the water, to make noodle soup.

5.      However, if you need dry noodles, take out the noodles and add the ingredient with the powder and toss it to get dry noodles.

Please share this info and help save a life.

Don't put dry ice in your car seat without opening the window

Remember this esp when we buy lots of ice cream during Baskin Robbins 31st day offer!!! They normally put dry ice in your ice cream pack if you buy a lot. A friend bought four pack of ice cream and to prevent it from melting, the seller put the dry ice amongst the ice cream. My friend put it at the back seat (not the back of the car) and he started to drive with the windows closed and the aircon on (as what we all do). Soon after that, he had difficulty to breath and it was getting worser by minutes. Luckily, he was in a traffic jam and when he almost fainted, beside him was an ambulance. He dragged himself to the ambulance and got the oxygen treatment. He was getting better on the way to the hospital. The ambulance officer drove his car to the hospital and he had the same experience. However, before his condition worsen, he opened up the window and he can breathe easily. Only later, when my friend has returned to office and told his colleagues about his story, they pointed to him that the dry ice was the problem. WHY?

Dry ice was made of CO2 and when it "melts", it becomes CO2 gas straight away without leaving any wet mark (that is why it is called dry ice). CO2 is easier to be tied up in our blood and thus, when the dry ice sublimes into CO2 gas, it fills the car room with it along with the air con circulation and caused CO2 poisoning. So, dont put the dry ice inside your car if you are using aircon with fully closed windows. You must leave the windows open for such situation. Hope this will help to prevent any fatality just from a small negligence like this. Imagine if you have your children inside, they might be the first victim.

Busy busy busy

For the past few weeks I have been busy with nothing but I'm so beaten up. Not sure if Aaron been extra hyper or I just getting old or I just being plain lazy (it happen once a while). This week it is my turn to be care taker to my parent house. They went to 'umrah' and leave way too many plants unattended. So we are taking turn to ensure the garden is taking care of. I have my small garden back at my house and since I am here, my sister helping me to ensure my small garden to be water everyday also. She is lucky because I have small garden as I just started with gardening. My mom had way too many gardens. It takes hours just to water and clean the garden. So tiring and even the house is 3 times bigger than mine. Everything need to be swept and clean everyday. It s nightmares since Aaron keep mess up the living hall and then bedroom and then TV room. I am feeling that I have been cleaning the house every hour.  Lucky I bring  our laptop  and my parent house has Wifi connection. My brother fix this on his room since all of us has laptop on our own and we will not disturb his pc.

I guess everyone want to ask how is my early retirement. What I like the most is I can cook as much as I want. I have experiment few my own receipies and also try few new receipies. Most of it are the food I love to eat. It is good to know how to cook or baked it on your own. So far I have baked Creme Brulee and turn out to be so nice and creamy like the Creme Brulee at Mossaudra (one of the restaurant that I like to go as they have the best Creme Brulee). Then I baked Butter Cookies with orange flavour for my son. I did the dough and only baked enough for a week and keep the rest of the dough. Once the cookies almost finish I will bake it again so my son will have fresh butter cookies. I still try to fix my skill doing my own bread so I will not need to buy any bread from the shop. I also made doughnut. Yesterday I cook Kung Po Har(prawn) and fried sweet peas with garlic (chinese food night) and it was lovely.

Another thing is I have pick up gardening and seem to like it. Not much of work as I have small garden and not many plants yet. But I love my Chrysanthemum flowers. My yellow Chrysanthemum bloom nicely but I have problem with my purple Chrysanthemum. The color doesn't seem to be even. I will be checking it out once I'm back to my house next week. I am bring some plants from my parent house since they have way too many to handle.

It is handfull even though I am not working anymore. In June we going overseas for short vacation so I was busy doing all the reservation of the hotel and flight. It will be more handfull once Aaron going to pre-school next year. But by then may be I already hire a maid LOL. I am skeptical  on the maid issue. Too many stories that scares me. So I try to hold on as much as I can to take care my son on my own.

"A NEW EARTH Awakening to Your Life's Purpose by Eckhart Tolle"

I had seen this book on Oprah newsletter and how Oprah Winfrey and Eckhart Tolle conduct a 10-week online seminar. I wanted to join and it seems the line was too slow to even begin with. So I left it behind until one day a friend add application Free Conference Call in  Facebook. I was intrigue to know what this all about and add this application to my profile in Facebook. Then I start to explore this thing and saw Allan Hunkin invitation for discussion about this Eckhart's book. I was happy and sign in my attendance for the discussion that happen today morning at 9.30 am. I was the only Malaysian & Muslim participant and did not read the book yet. It was great discussion even though I have miss two sessions. Today is about Core of Ego and it has made me realize about myself recently. As many of you know that I left my big buck job to become housewife. Actually I was reluctant to let go the title of my job so I had to remind my husband if any of his co-worker ask what do I do, please ensure to tell that I used to work in big post and now a housewife. That's ego! I do not want to be known only as a housewife. It is awakening for me to realize my mistake. So the discussion really hit me and good for me. I want to read the book and so many years I have given excuse to myself for not reading anymore. But this experience has given me hope to start reading starting with Eckhart's book. I will try to grab this book from the bookstore ad start reading and attending to online discussion. I want to awake myself so I can give good example to my son. I also encourage to whoever view my blog to try to do so. Most of us has Internet, Facebook and technologies. Why not we use it for the goodness of life?

Awaken me...

Muslim women and hijab

I have come across this video while I was checking Goodtree (something like Facebook & Friendster but more on good cause forum). I would like to share this video as eye opener to some people who support to ban the hijab. I wear the hijab and very proud of it.

Something happen during dinner

While we having dinner, we don't realise that Aaron has fall asleep half way eating my 'Ayam Masak Kicap' (Black Soya Sauce Chicken). Toward the end both of us realise he was asleep and I manage to pull my Dopod 838Pro to capture a little bit of the action.

Jamie Oliver on Oprah

Jamie & Oprah This is the best picture as I was reading Oprah site (I am a member), I got to know Jamie Oliver on Oprah. Jamie & Oprah are my idols and looking at the picture having two of them together really excite me. Below is the article in Oprah:

"For your next Oprah's Big Give party, Jamie Oliver demonstrates an ultra-easy recipe from his book Cook with Jamie: My Guide to Making You a Better Cook that you can share with your friends and family.

"I love this book," Oprah says. "I love the feel of it. I love the texture of it. I love what's inside. I love the size of it. I love this book."
Jamie says the inspirations for
Jools' Favorite Saturday Afternoon Pasta are his wife—after whom it's named—and the unusual pairing of ingredients like cinnamon, tuna, lemon, basil and chilies.
Not only is Cooking with Jamie full of wonderful recipes and time-saving cooking tips, it also supports a great cause. Jamie says he'll give all the money he makes from it to the Fifteen Foundation, which inspires and trains underprivileged kids for careers in food"

A friend suggested me to watch this movie and I never regret watching it. It is not musical movie but about a guy that wants to become a singer so there are few good songs it in. Below is the synopsis of the movie.

“Once is a 2006 Irish musical film written and directed by John Carney. Set in Dublin, this naturalistic drama stars musicians Glen Hansard (of popular Irish rock band The Frames) and Markéta Irglová as fictional struggling musicians. Collaborators prior to making the film, Hansard and/or Irglová composed and performed all but one of the original songs in the movie.

The film has received awards and extremely enthusiastic reviews. Shot for only $160,000, it was very successful, earning substantial per-screen box office averages in the United States. The film's original music has been nominated for an Academy Award and also received two Grammy Award nominations.”

If you like the band like Travis, Keane or Coldplay, you will love this movie and the band. They are not well known except in Ireland or UK. But I go crazy about their song now. My friend has been searching high and low for the OST CD but it’s sold out. This movie is simple story but it will give you great impact due to the lovely songs. It is not too romantic for a guy to watch it even thou it is sort of the love story. It is so real and potrait our everyday life. Please watch the movie and you know what I'm talking about. I have attached a scene featuring the song "Falling Slowly" that is the best & touchy song of all. It was nominated in the Oscar.

WIP @ BSC

Today we planned to have dinner at Chillis Bangsar but unfortunately the place was pack and so many people are still on the waiting list. Good business for them. Coincidence at BSC there was new place called WIP just open. Its next to La Bodega. The menu was fine. They covered western, asian delight & nothern indian food. The service was great and Aaron loves the chicks there. You should try it. I had lamb cutlets and I like the rosemary gravy.

Gong Xi Fa Chai!

It was a long holiday in Malaysia since Chinese New Year holiday was on Thursday and Friday. We decided to head back to Terengganu to celebrate it. After all, my hubby is chinese but 'muslim chinese' and do celebrate the New Year. The traffic was great because most of people already travel a day earlier. My son Aaron very restless in the car as it is 6-7 hours journey. Reached my in law house at 3 am and straight away goes to sleep. Then we start with shopping at Pasar Payang and then when to Cendering beach for a splash. The next day we spend at Pulau Kapas. It just a daily trip but very relaxing. We just nice spot under the big tree. At the begining I was under the weather as I got sea sick on the boat journey to Pulau Kapas. But after a few CNY orange I was ok and back in action taking pictures. At night my brother in law took us to Seberang Takir for 'ikan pari celup tepung'. On Saturday we decided to go to Losong to buy 'keropok lekor' but unfortunately we a little to late. Since it was Visti Terengganu year, this holiday there a lot of tourist and the keropok finish. There are so many stalls but none of them have the stock. We can wait for them to finish rolling the keropok but some people has been waiting for hours. So we decided to buy the keropok at the nearby stall at my in law's house. Then we go to Masjid Kristal but very dissapointed because the place not even complete. Then we hang out at Batu Buruk before we head home the next day. We are stuck with the traffic at Bentong and Karak and reach home late from our plan time. Anyway the journey was safe and we do enjoy out time. You can check out out photo at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2001833&l=37e30&id=1034455652.

My 1st posting on my new blog page

Hi everyone! Starting from today I will be posting my blog through here instead of Friendster so anyone can access to it. So this is my official blog for 2008. MTV it showing 'Unplugged with Nivana' now and really ring a bell of my younger times. It is not that I am old, just not young anymore (LOL). I have start 2008 by being full time housewife (finally) and it is good start. I spend my time to the gym, shopping (a lot!), doing groceries and sent my hubby shirt to Dobi Shop for ironing. I hate iron clothes so I ain't gonna do it at all even I'm not working. My hubby cool about it. Getting great allowance from my darling and life is great so far. I have not taken my son from my parent yet as I need to settle few stuff. Still waiting for arrangement of my new investment house to ready so I can post the ads looking for tenant. I had to sent my Dopod 838Pro to service as Aaron has been playing with it and spoilt the speaker. My son only play with our laptop and PDA as his favourite toys. He know how to touch the PDA screen and best thing is he only use the stylus (LOL). That's my boy! Since my phone at the service centre, I had to use my dad old phone and I only have my family phone number in the sim card. So if you guy call me, please identify yourself ok.

My mom keep asking us if we want to go to Bali in March and Indonesia never in my place to visit list actually. Reluctant but still keeping the option open. Nirvana still playing at MTV and making me feeling very down looking at Curt singing. Disturbing... Better change the channel. Hmm AFC channel is showing 'Sedap' and they cooking Asam Pedas. Piece of cake!

Let me end my 1st posting here and to be continue next time...
